Lina Hidalgo for Harris County Announces Over $2 Million On Hand Heading Into Final Stretch of the Campaign
Lina Hidalgo received contributions from over 3,400 individual donors, averages less than $270 per contribution
HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS–(October 11, 2022)– Today, on the next to last campaign finance deadline before the November 8th election, Lina Hidalgo for Harris County reported raising over $1.5 million and holding over $2 million cash on hand. This report covers all contributions received between July 1 and September 29 2022.
Hidalgo received 5,350 contributions in total from 3,440 contributors, shattering her own record set earlier this year for most individual contributions to a campaign in Harris County history. More than 80 percent of Hidalgo’s contributions were for $100 or less. In the 90-day reporting period, Lina Hidalgo for Harris County averaged roughly 60 individual contributions a day. Hidalgo continues to be the only candidate that does not accept contributions from individuals or companies doing or seeking to do business with the County.
“I’m proud of our broad-base of support and proud that these funds allow us to be on the airwaves with ads based on facts. My opponent cannot say the same,” Lina Hidalgo said.
